Online Beginner Cookie Decorating Class with Dotty - 11/3, 7-9 pm
So you want to learn how to decorate cookies? Or you’re new to decorating and want to watch someone else do it live? Maybe you're just getting started and need to fine tune a few things. Finally, I’m teaching online! I have taught hundreds and hundreds of private beginner decorating classes in Frederick since 2013. Now I want to teach you no matter where you live!
We will meet in a Zoom classroom where you will watch me decorate some cookies. The actual designs will be a surprise because frankly, the shape of the cookie doesn’t matter for what I want to teach you...The basics...The very basics. You will take the skills that I teach you and apply them to any cookie holiday or occasion.
Everyone decorates a little differently. I want to show you how I do it.
Tuesday, November 3rd, 7 - 9 pm Eastern
With the purchase of this class, you will receive a royal icing recipe and a sugar cookie recipe. You will also receive a summary guide - with all of the important points - for note-taking and to refer back to.
In this two-hour class, I will first decorate, then take questions.
During the decorating portion, I’ll show you….
1. The two icing consistencies that I use to outline and flood.
2. How to bag the icing and cut the bags.
3. How to hold your piping bag.
4. How to outline and flood my way.
5. How to make royal icing transfers.
6. A few wet-on-wet decorating techniques
7. How to achieve distinct sections on a cookie.
8. How to add raised details on top of a decorated cookie.
9. Talk to you about using a dehydrator.
After decorating, we’ll have a Q&A session as time allows. Ask me your decorating questions! You’ll use the chat feature to enter your questions. That speeds things up, allowing me to get to more questions.
You won’t be decorating during the class. You’ll be watching me decorate. Two reasons for this. 1. If you are working on your own cookies, you won’t be focused on what I’m doing. I really want you to watch and listen since we can't be together. I think this way is the most beneficial to you. 2. You will have made your own icing and your consistencies may be off. I’ve talked to a few people that made their own icing for an online class and ended up in tears during that class out of frustration. That’s wasted money and unnecessary frustration. I don’t want that for you.
So please join me! I’m so excited to be able to meet and teach more people!
Please note: The cookies will already be made when this class starts. The icing will be made and colored when this class starts. I will not be making them live with you. That's another class I might add someday.
Upon registering, you will receive the icing/dough recipes and summary page for immediate download. You will immediately receive an automated email from my website. Then a personal email from me with a link to the Zoom classroom will come later. You may not share this link with anyone. Your purchase is for you alone to join the class at the appointed day and time.
If you don’t receive that first automated email – that means that your order was not completed! Go through checking out to the very last step. You’ll go to paypal then back to my website. If you get stuck and it doesn’t complete – clear your cache. That usually fixes the problem.
If you can’t make this date, this class does repeat. This listing will be edited to change out the date. Like all of my online classes, they are at 7 pm eastern on Tuesday evenings. They are always live. I don’t record them. Maybe someday I will, but for now, they’re all live.
If you don't live in the eastern US, please find out what time 7 pm eastern is for you BEFORE you register. Here is an online time zone converter if you need help..
Pre-registration required. Registration is for ONE person.
All class registrations are final. There are NO REFUNDS.
By registering, you agree not to share my recipes/documents/class. Instead, please send people to me to take my class. Thank you!
